The Pilgrims

A secret society gradually absorbing the wealth of the world.

In his book, The Empire of “The City”: The Secret History of British Financial Power, published in 1944, author E. C. Knuth revealed that world affairs, particularly since the beginning of the 20th century, have been directed by a secret cabal centred in the City of London, known as the “Pilgrims Society”.

E. C. Knuth laments just how successfully this establishment has gone unnoticed: “News that definitely points to the existence of the secret world super government of “The City” is treated with dense silence. The current activities of what has been identified as the most powerful international society on earth, the “Pilgrims,” are so wrapped in silence that few Americans know even of its existence since 1903.”¹

This “City” is identified as the City of London Corporation, the municipal governing body of the City of London, which is the historic centre of London and the location of the United Kingdom’s financial sector. This Corporation is closely connected with the Livery Companies, comprising London’s ancient and modern merchant trade associations and guilds. You can read more about trade guilds here.

Author Charles A. Collman was arguably the first to identify the Pilgrims in his 1915 book, The War Plotters of Wall Street. Collman argued that a group of wealthy English and American financiers and industrialists conspired to manipulate the US government to enter World War I:

“Great English bankers have been plotting here for years to seize the reins of government. So far, these men have succeeded. They control the banks of the country, all the institutions in which the people have placed their savings; they at last control the press, and can sway public sentiment by means of their corrupt news services, from one end of the country to the other.

And I asked myself, who are these men, so strong that they may with impunity defy the power of the President of our country, and the wishes of its people?… Who are these men?… It’s a society they call the American Pilgrims.”²
